ANNUAL BUSINESS SHOWCASE was a huge hit this past weekend! Cortland – The 27th annual Cortland County Business Showcase took place last Saturday with the business Preview Party occurring Friday evening. Over 400 guests were at the opening Friday evening to see the new businesses, the new outdoor items, and network with their fellow Chamber Members during the Taste of Cortland. Nine restaurants/food service businesses participated providing some of their signature items. Brix, Crown City Steak House, CP Cash & Carry, M&D Deli, Kory’s, Linani’s, The Benn Conger, Maria’s Baklava, and Frosted were all there with awesome dishes. The Restaurant and Tavern Association with President Troy Beckwith again provided the beverages for the event and this year added Cortland Beer Company to the offerings. During the event a team of judges studied all booths and three award plaques were presented. To the large business, Cayuga Medical Center received the award. The small business booth prize went to RH Osborne’s World of Floor Coverings. And the Non-Profit award went to BOCES Center for New Careers. Congratulations to the winners for outstanding booths. The Saturday Showcase was once again a hit. Hundreds of participants from Cortland and the surrounding communities came through the doors to see our manufactures, retailers, service businesses, and the non-profits in our Showcase. Totally new this year was the Outdoor Recreation Show which featured seven dealers displaying; boats, motorcycles, ATVs, kayaks, vehicles, tractors, and paddle boards. “What a great addition”, was the comment from many vendors and participants. Dan The Snake Man and Bailey’s Karate provided shows for the public on center stage with people filling the bleachers in advance of show time. Stated Bob Haight, Chamber Executive Director, “This was an excellent opportunity for our members and local businesses to interact with the public. The show did just what it was designed to do. Thank you all who participated.” |
