DESCRIPTION:The Cayuga Cortland Workforce Development Board and NYS Department of Labor invites you to participate in our upcoming High School Job Opportunity Fair. We would be honored to have your esteemed business join us in this endeavor to support and empower the future workforce of our community.\n\n\n\nWhen: Thursday\, March 14\, 2024 (*with a snow date of Friday\, March 15\, 2024) Time: 9:30am   2:00pm Where: SUNY Cortland Corey Union Function Room\, Cortland\, NY\n\n\n\nThe opportunity fair aims to provide high school students in grades 10 through 12\, with the opportunity to explore potential career paths\, develop their professional skills\, and connect with local businesses like yours. We believe that it is crucial for young people to have exposure to real-world work experiences and opportunities to engage with potential employers. By participating in this event\, you will be contributing to their growth and development and helping to shape the future of our local economy.\n\n\n\nWe encourage you to "meet the youth where they are" by thinking outside of the box and perhaps dressing in more "business casual" than in your usual formal business attire. We would like to try to make these students as comfortable as possible in this environment as this may likely be their first time through a formal "Job Fair" environment and they will have a lot to think about and experience. Some of these students will be researching opportunities as stated above\, some of them may be looking for internship opportunities\, and many of them will be looking for their first career opportunity following high school graduation in June 2024!\n\n\n\nThe opportunity fair for the high school students will run from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm\, during which time you will have exclusive access to engage with high school students.\n\n\n\nTo confirm your participation and reserve a booth for your business at the event\, please complete the  registration form and return it to us no later than Friday\, February 16\, 2024.
