This award honors a woman who\, through her contributions to the community\, has improved the status of women or children. She is nominated by her peers and is a member of the local community. \n\nThe luncheon is also a fundraiser\, allowing the Zonta Club of Cortland to contribute to the Cortland County agencies that benefit women and children\, as well as providing scholarships to women in the county.
