About CCYP
Cortland County Young Professionals is a Leadership Cortland project developed in cooperation with the Cortland County Chamber of Commerce. Its purpose is to facilitate the deliberate transition of power to younger generations, through professional development, networking, and community engagement. Our hope is that, through supporting young business professionals, they will be encouraged to not only stay in Cortland County, but also to find their voice and grow as individuals.
Events
The CCYP will hold bi-monthly events. Our regular events will have professional development (a speaker or program leader), followed by networking. We will also have one annual fundraiser (held in early-to-mid fall), and one annual give-back day of service.
Membership
Cortland County Young Professionals (CCYP) members join individually and are not required to work for a Cortland County Chamber of Commerce member to join. Membership dues are paid by the individual member, and not by their employer (unless the employer offers to cover the cost). This allows young professionals changing jobs to continue enjoying their CCYP membership without interruption. While all CCYP members will be encouraged to attend Chamber of Commerce events, their fee for those events will be based on their employer’s membership with the Chamber.
