The NYS SHIELD Act is an expanded breach and privacy law to protect the cyber and data security of New York residents.
Stop Hacks and Improve Electronic Data Security Act went into effect on March 21, 2020.

the breach notification requirements, and the administrative, technical and physical safeguards required,
and the steep penalties for non-compliance imposed by NYS.
