Cortland Repertory Theatre, Inc. (CRT) was founded in 1972 by local residents and educators who determined a need for quality live theatre in Cortland. CRT is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) professional theatre company that originally operated only in the summer, but since 2015 has expanded to a year-round schedule across two venues.
Each summer, CRT produces five mainstage plays and musicals at the historic Little York Pavilion in Dwyer Park, Preble. During the fall and winter, CRT Downtown in the city of Cortland presents theatrical productions, concerts, and special events. To date, CRT has produced more than 300 professional shows, including musicals, comedies, dramas, classics, children’s theatre, and new works for audiences from across the region and beyond.
CRT’s mission is “to offer visitors and residents of Central New York an opportunity to experience, at an accessible price, the range and scope of excellent professional theatre.” CRT positively impacts the local economy by employing actors, directors, designers, technicians, and a respected company of college-aged interns, while purchasing goods and services from local vendors for sets, costumes, and operational needs.
Known for high-quality entertainment for all ages, CRT has built a strong reputation as a place where emerging and established artists can learn and grow. A recent Economic Impact Study found that CRT generates over $120,000 in economic activity during the summer alone, supporting restaurants, hotels, attractions, and businesses throughout Central New York.Rep/Contact Info
